Starting the job on the Cruise ship in Madagascar
Montagne d'Ambre National Park in northern Madagascar, is about 35km south of Antsiranana (Diego-Suarez). It is a relatively small and isolated area of montane forest, exhibiting remarkable biological diversity. Even a couple of hours spent here with one of the good local guides, gives you an impression of how very special the National Park is. Having said that, the site is already suffering from signs of exploitation, with much of the Park comprising secondary, rather than primary forest. Virtually all of the surrounding landscape has been burned and is now just a barren wasteland.
