We loved this hotel. Colonial style, beautiful property and gorgeous terraces to enjoy the sun outside your room. Breakfast was really nice and in a beautiful setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went on a colca canyon overnight hike and they not only stored our luggage but they prepared a take away breakfast as we left at 3am. We booked the Andean massage which was so good. We had Maria and Bennie. The massage room is gorgeous as is the spa which you get access to for an hour before your treatment. If you don’t book a treatment though you can still enjoy private access to the spa for $17 per person. Perfect location to explore the city. Loved the coca tea, fresh mint and other tea options at reception.
Absolutely stunning hotel and extremely helpful staff. Perfect location - a quick walk to everything. I’ll recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Arequipa!
Beautiful historic hotel with superb food located in historic district. Friendly staff with great suggestions of things to do. More than met our needs.
It was incredibly beautiful at la Hosteria and the staff were so kind. They helped us arrange a fantastic trip to the Colca canyon-- thank you for a fabulous stay! Muchas gracias
La Hosteria has great and conformable rooms,
If you want to pass some hours it has different resting places with places that are quiets
The staff is very friendly, fast and decisive.
La Hosteria hotel was a former french mansion. Beautiful touches of French decor are everywhere. The location was a very short walk to the square. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. We, unfortunately, where in a room next to the restaurant so there was noise early in morning as they prepared for breakfast. The room was cold at night, but we had warm comforters. They were able to store our luggage for a fee.
Property is very pretty, cozy and charming. The restaurant is very good.Beds are very comfortable. Check in and out was quick. Walking distance to several good restaurants/cafes.
However, I didn’t get the room I reserved (saw in the photo during my reservation two beds instead one queen bed) Also, they need to stock more toilet paper in the bathrooms, no just one roll. Breakfast buffet was ok, needs more variety such as pancakes, waffles, oatmeal etc.
A beautiful property, with a lovely garden and good restaurant. The room was comfortable. However the window on the city side meant it was very very loud at night (we had to use earplugs at night to be able to sleep). The highlight was the Roman baths which is beautiful, however it is not included. It costs 17$ which is totally worth it, given you get exclusive use for one hour. Make sure you book it long in advance. We also got the massage and was fantastic! I would be back only if I could have a quieter room.
If I could rate this hotel higher than 10, I absolutely would.
We arrived at 7am after an overnight bus and, to our surprise, our room was ready less than an hour later. The super early check-in was so appreciated after a long journey.
Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a fantastic selection of options, and the coffee was some of the best we had in Peru.
Our room was spotless, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the giant spa bath was the perfect way to relax after trekking for 7 days.
The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. It’s filled with beautiful plants, artwork and charming spaces that create such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.
We also booked the private spa for an hour in the evening, and it was well worth the USD $17 per person. Having exclusive access to the sauna, cold plunge pool and hot tub was the perfect way to unwind.
I would genuinely return to Arequipa just for the opportunity to stay here again.

A beautiful property in a good area, not too far from the Plaza de Armas.
We'd booked a deluxe double room and whilst large and clean, it was very dated, especially the bathroom and 70s style brickwork and fireplace that covered an entire wall. The shower was terrible and sprayed water everywhere apart from over the person showering. We reported the issue so they could fix before the next person stayed.
The room was also very noisy from the main street and bridge crossing, and.backed onto a row of houses so you looked directly into their rooms and washing lines.
The cafe area was lovely and they had beautiful outdoor spaces where you could sit but it had an air of neglect, the staff didn't really engage or look up when you passed reception and the cafe pumped out loud rock music which didn't make us want to linger.
Overall it's a beautiful place but I was a little disappointed by our stay.
