My stay at Hotel Qellenhof in Arosa was enjoyable. The hotel is well situated on the main street, serviced by a free bus service from the train station. The room was clean, with a balcony with an outstanding view. Breakfast was included and was excellent, with a pleasant attendant. The only downside was the lack of facilities in the room for making tea or coffee.
An issue was that the hotel has no front desk or accessible person in charge. Check-in is electronic, so your phone has to be charged and able to access messages. The check-in message was sent by e-mail, but have a photo of the message to hand, and the check-in code written down. It took me 20 minutes to figure it all out, find out how to get into the foyer, and access and work through check in. Then, during my stay, the key system was changed to an electronic card. That's fine, of course, but I left in the morning not knowing how I’d get back in, and there was no one to ask. In the end, I got to the room via the kitchen and found the card in an envelope taped to the door, where (theoretically) anyone could have used it. Not a problem, but it is the kind of issue that happens without someone on duty. Just make as much preparation as possible for the electronic systems.
Other than that, it was a good place to stay, and the cost was reasonable. I would certainly stay there again. Thanks!
