Ashikuraji, Tateyama hotel rooms at the Independent

Very friendly and helpful staff, better English than I expected. More or less traditional ryokan, with tatami floors. The room is spacious during the day when the futons are rolled up (the staff does that for you), and the futons are very comfortable to sleep on. My wife and I had a very pleasant two-night stay at Hotel Tateyama. We stayed one night before our Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route trip and another night after returning, and both stays were excellent. The hotel is very well maintained and offers a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. One of the highlights was the large mosaic-tiled onsen spa. The design is beautiful and reminds me of an aquarium. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Room was excellent with an amazing Mountain View. Full amenities and top notch service. Staff goes above and beyond and are personable and friendly, even as English speaking tourists. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect mix of made to order hot dishes along with a large spread of buffet items. The best hotel in Hakuba if you want a luxurious and relaxing experience.

The condition of the cabin is super and as described. It is super clean and have all kitchen amenities available, probably more than my own kitchen. The check in process was smooth. The host was super fast in responding to email, usually an hour. We left behind a stuffed toy and they will help us ship to our hotel in Tokyo. Excellent service, highly recommended. Will probably stay in the same place next time to Hakuba.

A new experience for me, but would stay again.

La Neige is a great hotel, the staff is perfect, I want to come back, the premises are beautiful, so elegant, and at a good price, there’s no onsen, but no problem, there are options a few minutes away, and the hotel have an excellent transportation service. I definitely want to come back. 5 stars

My friends and I spent 6 nights at Avanti Chalet during our stay in Japan. We were amazed at the quality and size of the property, I highly recommend staying here. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful, they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. A small update to the property description; there's two bathrooms, not one. This property easily accommodated 4 people with plenty room to spare.

Such a great cottage that had everything we needed. Super clean, warm, walking distance to the ticket booths for Iwatake and Hakuba Brew Pub! So much room and comfort. Bathroom was great, the kitchen super clean and had everything we needed. Next time we'll load up the little fridge and not have to rely on going out for dinner so much. The cabins are so nice inside. All light wood paneled and not your typical Japanese insulation; they stayed warm the whole day and night! We will be coming back...

The Best Place in Hakuba! The Mahoroba property is amazing! I will stay here again! This spacious modern 2-story 3bedroom 3bathroom townhouse has all of the amenities you need to have a comfortable and relaxing stay near the major ski resorts in Hakuba. The king bed in the master bedroom was huge and super comfortable. The bathrooms are modern with Toto bidet toilets. The showers have adjustable water pressure. The living room is huge with a modern couch, stylish chaise, and reclining solo...

This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here.
