Very dirty and dated room. Carpets filthy and stained, poor decoration, damaged fittings and fixtures everywhere. Staff and restaurant excellent. Dont get a room near the gym as you can hear the weights slamming the floor from 6am. Breakfast was great.

We did not know but were allocated the last remaining room ( £200 room only ). This room was above entertainment for a wedding party ..that finished at 2am, thus no sleep. This room should NEVER have been allocated!

I was surprised at how welcoming the staff were at the hotel. Every spot seemed perfect for resting or taking a break. It felt like home. I liked the atmosphere here. We felt relaxed and welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff took really good care of everything. It was a refreshing escape.

Staff and food good but Room 102 to be avoided at all cost, all the extraction and AC fans and machinery for the kitchen and bar are on the flat roof directly outside the one opening window and with the room ac control showing a fault code the room was both too hot and too noisy.

The bathroom was disappointing, with long clumps of hair stuck to the walls. Something no cleaner should miss, especially in a 4‑star property.Breakfast was also poorly managed. The doors opened nearly ten minutes late, with staff looking out at us waiting and showing no awareness or urgency.

Really enjoyed our stay in Athlone Springs in what turned out to be different circumstances that what we were supposed to be in town for. The staff were really helpful and went out of their way to look after our needs. The pool was a great service and one our little man really enjoyed. If we are back in that part of the country we would not hesitate in staying there.
