“The hotel is having building work done which was not disclosed
Drilling and hammering started at 730am
Do not visit the hotel!!
Terrible noise and no one at reception until after midday ”
“Property was lovely and clean.
Lovely location and idyllic.
Lovely gesture was a packed lunch for the following day and a complimentary beer in the room fridge.
Perfect stay.
Ideally could have had a fan in the room as the weather was extremely hot.
10 out of 10.”
“Excellent in all areas! Friendly, polite and professional staff, immaculately clean, quality and choice of food are a credit to the catering team and the luxurious air conditioned boutique bedroom was heavenly!
Attention to detail in the Phoenix room helped to create the feeling of luxury these included quality toiletries, bath robes and slippers, sumptuous bedding and towels, coffee machine and home made shortbread.
Fabulous views, easy parking and very flexible breakfast times rounded off a...
“The room was small but well fitted out and clean. Helpful, friendly staff and good breakfast, parking available. Stunning view over Lathkill Dale and good walks in the area.”
“Lovely hotel, fantastic location. Well decorated, comfy twin room but disappointingly, in the annex. Not in the main hotel. IMO, on the expensive side. £500 2 x nights, especially as it was 'room only'. Also, hardly any parking on site. Forced to park in public car park.My fault. Should have paid more attention when booking.”
“We appreciated the dedicated parking, the delicious breakfast being included in the price, helpfulness of staff and very refreshing shower amenity. First class facility.”
“When I booked for myself and grandson six ,I wasn't made aware that our "hotel room" was just a block of rooms at the bottom of a road near the entrance. These were unmanned and the key had to be collected from the main reception. This is no easy fete when there's a very steep long hill to walk up to reception. I was told our room was ready,we went down to it,expecting staff to meet us. None were there. So I and my little grandson had to walk back up to reception with a suitcase and rucksacks...
“Room was lovely. Clean with comfortable beds and I loved the theme of cycling and hiking running throughout the hotel.
Restaurant had a good choice of items for evening meal and breakfast was very good.”
“Our room was excellent. Spacious, large ensuite. Breakfast was great, really nice. The car parking can't be reserved, it's a working pub. We did okay though on an August weekend. We really liked the whole village, explore it.”
“Brilliant location! Hotel could do with some TLC but don’t let this put you off! Mould in bathroom, but that was ok as only there for 1 night. Chocolates and slippers were a lovely touch. Nice quiet room - no complaints !”
“Our whole experience was wonderful, from check in to drinks in the cocktail bar to dinner and breakfast. Valet parking was a tad expensive but so convenient. We intend to return before Christmas - think it will be lovely.”
“Considering this was supposed to be a 4 star Radisson hotel, we were bitterley disappointed, the bed had springs that dug into your back, the sink in the bathroom was chipped and cracked, food overpriced, the sash window wouldnt open, water marks on the wall as well as a large crack down the wall, very very poor, the pool is always laned off and you have to wear a swim cap, not thequality id expect, we left after one night”
“The room itself is good but basic, was fine for a one night stopover. Self check-in on a tablet. The kettle in the room leaked when we filled it and covered the table in water. The refill station in the check in area for tea & coffee had run out of milk portions with a note saying sorry.
We booked a meal in the pub but unfortunately they had run out of all the grill options including steaks, burgers, chicken wings. We had called ahead from Bakewell to book the table 20 minutes previously and...
