We really enjoyed staying at The Old Vicarage,it was such a unique setting and Tricia and Andrew were such great hosts. Our room was beautiful and the breakfasts were great. The location was really great for touring around the peak district.
It’s a lovely house and garden in a lovely village and surrounding countryside. The hosts Trisha and Andrew were very friendly and offered great advice for walks and places to eat etc.
Really Great breakfast too.
A very characterful property with charming interiors. Tricia and Andrew were friendly and accommodating hosts, and we enjoyed their company (and their cooking) thoroughly.
Would highly recommend The Old Vicarage. It’s in a great location, the accommodation is lovely and the hosts are so welcoming. We had a lovely short break thanks to Andrew, Tricia and our fellow guests.
Tricia and Andrew were the perfect hosts during our stay. Room and bathroom very comfortable and spacious and a good selection of food for breakfast. Very handy for The Star next door which served amazing pies.
Beautiful house. Everything high quality from welcome in lounge to decor, cleanliness, rooms and attention to every detail possible. So much thought, care, judgement and love have gone into this exemplary B and B. It is a huge credit to the owners! Thank you!!
The Old Vicarage is situated in a a quaint historic village that is close to Buxton for the opera and Bakewell for it's tarts and puddings. Ideal for walkers and cyclists as there is the former railway line that links places of interest and enables you to enjoy the dales.
The hosts Andrew & Tricia are friendly and charming. The rooms are spacious and spotless with tea making facilities. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of choice. The Old Vicarage's decor reflects its history and is cosy and tasteful.
The Star Inn near the Old Vicarage deserves a visit for its home cooked food.
Lovely building and welcoming hosts.
Cosy room (Church view) and fab breakfast.
Nice village and central for walking areas, Monsal trail etc.
Choice of eateries within walking distance.
The Old Vicarage B&B was a wonderful place to start our first visit to The Peak District. The location was great as it was very central for the area. The property was beautifully maintained, bedrooms are very comfortable and kept pristinely clean and the breakfast was excellent. Andrew and Tricia were lovely hosts, very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of hints and tips. Would highly recommend a visit and we will certainly be returning.
Lovely property with wonderful hosts. If you want an escape in the countryside with hosts who’ll engage with you, share tips and provide an excellent stay this is the place for you.
The Old Vicarage B&B in Tideswell is the perfect starting point for some days in the Peak District. The nice couple running it takes good care of you and the place is cosy, clean and the breakfast is well cooked to your liking and with a tasty fresh fruit salad with yoghurt first. The car can be parked in the courtyard. Note that only few places in the area serve food on Monday and Tuesday.
We arrived in the afternoon and was offered a cup of tea and delicious cake in the stunning garden of the beautiful period house. The whole stay was a total joy with such lovely hosts, delicious breakfasts, helpful information and a large, well equipped room with a gorgeous view over the garden. I would lovd to stay again!
Tricia was an amazing hostess. The room was lovely and the food and refreshments delicious. Tideswell and the Peak district never looked more beautiful. Thank you for all the information and maps too!
The B&B is located in the quaint village of Tidesdale, Derbyshire next to the Cathedal which is worth a visit.
The Hosts are very helpful and this ensures a very good stay.
This is the quintessential English vicarage and the perfect B&B. If you want to stay in a warm, welcoming and beautiful location, then look no further. The room was immaculate and breakfast perfect. Tricia and Andrew are excellent hosts and we could have happily spent hours chatting. They offered good advice on where to eat and where to go. If we return to the Peak District we won’t give a second thought to booking again.
We had a lovely long weekend at The Old Vicarage. From the moment we arrived Tricia and Andrew made us feel very welcome. Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The cooked breakfasts were also very good, and when we returned after a long day's walking, we were greeted with tea and cake on the patio. A highly recommended B&B and one we will definitely be returning to in the future.
Stayed two nights at the Old Vicarage in Tideswell.
The B&B was beautifully presented and very clean. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a great views of the garden and Church.
The owners Tricia and Andrew were great hosts and really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were always on hand to help and advise on places to visit and eat. It really felt like you were their guests in their own home, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was great too, everything fresh and cooked to perfection, just perfect to set you up for a day walking out in the beautiful countryside.
The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the village behind the Church clock tower, the "Cathedral of the Peaks". Don't worry, the Church clock does not chime during the night. The village is very quiet but there are still some great pubs and eating places within easy walking distance.
There are some great places to eat and drink in the village. We would recommend the Merchants Yard, just a few minutes from the B&B or the Red Lion in Litton, about 15 minutes walk.
Andrew and Elena, London
As soon as we arrived cake and tea was brought to us to eat by the wood burning fire in the lounge. This was very welcome as it was a bitterly cold day. We chatted to the owners, Tricia and Andrew, for some time over the tea and cake before Andrew helped us to our room which was spacious and comfortable with an amazing freestanding roll top bath in the bathroom as well as a shower. Cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt and full English breakfast was served on the Saturday morning which was delicious (we couldn't manage a full English on the Sunday morning being too full up from our meal at the Mercants Yard the night before, but the cereal and toast was very tasty nevertheless). Andrew also brought us some warmed Almond croissants from the local bakery on the Saturday morning which was very unexpected and very yummy. Tricia and Andrew have a good knowledge of the area and suggested two great eateries for our Friday and Saturday evening dining. They are a lovely couple and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Hope to return when time allows.
