“The only thing that was acceptable about the Iris Hotel is that desk staff were polite. The carpets and other surfaces were visibly dirty. Looks like the hotel had not been cleaned in months perhaps years. The sheets on the beds appeared clean but were well used. There was mold growing in the shower and a crack in the sink. The windows were sealed shut and there were water stains on the ceiling. I had booked 4 nights at the Iris but 1 night was enough and on the morning of May 29 I checked out...

“Bed and breakfast was great, the staff were lovely. There were lots of little touches in the room for example, decent coffee sachets and the breakfast consisted of many cooked choices + cereals, yoghurt and fruit etc. The room was very clean and the shower was good. The only slight negative was the location as there wasn’t much around and after our dinner reservation was cancelled (chef was ill I think) we had to try and find somewhere else to eat which required driving to get there. “We stayed here one night as a last minute getaway from the heat back home . The property was spotless and everything was so thoughtful , so many personal touches showing the care they take with their guests . They went above and beyond when I had an issue with my car charging and drove me all the way to it, which would have cost £50 in a taxi. My children loved the animals on site and the owners were very patient answering all their questions ! Thank you so much for your kindness !”

“There was nothing to dislike, but everything to like. The room was clean and very comfortable, the owners went out of their way to make sure everything was satisfactory. Check in was easy and right from the start we felt relaxed and "at home".”
