Lovely little understated hotel, centrally located, with friendly staff. Tastefully decorated and comfortable lobby and room. I loved the exposed stone wall and harmonious color choices in my room. We were booked into room 37, which was facing the rear of the property, with a door/window overlooking the back side of a few other buildings and some outdoor living spaces. Although not picturesque, it turned out to be rather peaceful, occasionally hearing seagulls in the morning as the sun brightened the sky. I did notice some front facing rooms, that overlooked the street, narrow and vehicle restricted. Those rooms are possibly noisier, as the closed in alleys may reflect noise, but offer a quick view of street activity, before you leave your room. The location was superb, just a few minutes from the gothic Cathedral of Barcelona, and another couple more minutes to La Rambla. The hotel is not too obvious as you approach from either side, so you find yourself one moment surrounded by the bustle of the city, and a moment later you slide in the sliding front door and instantly into a "safe" house where you can lower your city guard and relax unconditionally. Breakfast was awesome, many choices in a rather small buffet, with some variation every day. Continually restocked by friendly staff. Every front desk person was very good natured, with useful command of English. All in all, a very pleasant experience with this property, and the city at large.
