"This hotel deserves 10 stars. Keep in mind that this is on shelter Island, which is not actually an island but more like a peninsula, but if you wanna go downtown SD or anything, you will need to take an Uber or drive. The hotel itself has wonderful views of the marina. I love the service from the restaurant. Everybody from there was awesome, very friendly and accommodating. Keep in mind that there is a back door that can be locked in your room. I was on the ground floor and there was a patio. The room is very spacious. The only comment I have is that there wasn’t many outlets near the mirrors I had to unplug the microwave to use the blow dryer so I could look at the mirror . Full size toiletries!!! The shower pressure and shampoo and body wash was all lovely .I did see like two ants, but that’s it and I think it’s expected to see some bugs, because you’re by the ocean. The hotel itself is very clean. The pool is a bit small however it does the job. It also has a hot tub which is necessary after a long day of shopping or going to the beach. This was very relaxing. The food is the bomb. I had shrimp cocktail,fish and chips and breakfast. Awesome! I didn’t really walk around too much by shelter island, but it looked like it was a safe place to walk. If you are a solo traveler, I would take caution at night as you would anywhere. If you want shopping and the beach go to Coronado! Access the beach thru Coronado hotel. Thank you!! "We had a great experience. Kids loved the pool, us adults loved the hot tubs. Came back to nice, clean rooms every day. Tons of things to do and great views with direct access to the bay. Would absolutely stay here again. "

"Location & views are fantastic! Rooms are located in many different buildings. Had an injured leg so walking to the last building from the lobby was challenging. Saw golf carts being used (when checking out) BUT never offered or suggested by staff when I mentioned how far away our bldg was. Would stay here again…….."

"Internet was kinda slow but allowed streaming , the floors/ walls are thin so if you’re on 1/2nd floor you can hear people walking around in their room all night, with the walls I could hear the shower from the people above us going and toilets as well. Room was clean when we go to it "
