"We arrived at 5 for a complimentary glass of wine, hosted by friendly staff. Guests sat together and shared travel stories, much like a b and b. Great fun! Breakfast was included, but not a highlight. The room was clean and bright. Hotel location is perfect with great restaurants nearby. It is not the Ritz, but priced accordingly and we loved our time at the Pownal. Definitely recommend."

"We loved our stay in the Sunrise Suite on the top floor and honestly felt like we had the best room in the hotel. Everything was very clean, the ocean views were beautiful, and the huge tub overlooking the water was such a highlight, although it could definitely use some sort of foot grip or stopper at the end, it was so large that it was hard not to slide down. We were celebrating my mom’s 65th birthday, and the chocolates and card waiting in our room were such a special touch. The main floor was a lovely place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring with a glass of wine by the fireplace. Breakfast by the floor-to-ceiling windows was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the property felt peaceful and relaxing. Our only disappointment was that the weather wasn’t on our side, so we didn’t get to enjoy the balcony as much as we had hoped, which was obviously no fault of the hotel. We would definitely stay again!"

"We had room 127, right beside the stairway on the second floor. It was spacious and clean with no unpleasant odour. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room was very crowded and it took awhile to replenish supplies while we were there. The door at the top of the stairs was very noisy each time it closed. I think someone must have propped it open after awhile because it didn't wake us during the night. The temperature was set to 54F when we got there and it took a few hours before we thawed out and were comfortable. Overall, we would recommend."
