Booking wasn't received

Hotel itself is great. Good location, comfortable, if a little expensive (for China). But the booking hadn't been received by the hotel, so Expedia had obviously confirmed the booking with me, before receiving a confirmation from the hotel. Nobody in the hotel spoke English and my being fluent in mandarin didn't help. Expedia customer service are a nightmare to get hold of. Be sure to have the itinary number handy! Be aware that in China you will be charged for incoming calls. It cost me £40-50 in phone tarif to get it sorted. But the hotel itself is great. Recommended!
