My experience at Divan Bodrum was deeply disappointing. I live in the United States and chose this hotel hoping to spend a special summer vacation with my mother. We picked Divan Bodrum because it is marketed as one of the most prestigious hotels in Tรผrkbรผkรผ. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major mistake.
We arrived at the hotel at noon, but were told our room was not ready. We accepted this politely and checked in with the front desk every 30 minutes. Despite our repeated inquiries, we were left waiting for nearly two hours in the lobby and restaurant area under the July heat. During that entire time, we were not offered a single glass of water, no welcome gesture, and absolutely no effort was made to make us feel acknowledged or comfortable. At 2:05 PM, we were finally allowed into our room. I travel internationally often for work and I have never been checked into a room this late without any form of hospitality or explanation.
Once inside, no one gave us any guidance or information about the hotel. No mention of the gym, spa, restaurants, or even where anything was located. For a hotel that charges over 500 dollars per night, this level of disorganization and indifference is simply unacceptable.
I shared my disappointment with the front desk, and a man named Hasan, who I was told is the manager, sent a bottle of wine to our room. That gesture felt like an empty attempt to smooth things over rather than a meaningful response. A professional manager would have taken
