“The room was clean and spacious with a great view of the garden . The hotel itself needs some updating , blown windows peeling paint work in the bar reception area .The staff were polite and professional even though they were obviously understaffed ! Well done Ben you were excellent at your job . Keeping everyone served whilst also checking guests in . Unfortunately the evening meal wasn’t the best , but in the morning the breakfast more than made up for it . A selection of of pastries, fresh...

“The hotel is incredible and the staff to match. Food is good quality although service can be poor at times. Certainly recommend staying, as this hotel is very relaxed with pets (dogs) allowed to stay.”

“this place was good for 1 night only; the food left lots to be desired, The evening meal was very disappointing. The breakfast was dreadful; the eggs were so overcooked they were crisp on the bottom and all around the edges. The staff were somewhat laid-back. I would not recommend this place to anyone.”

“Honestly this was the MOST perfect stay for a new forest adventure. i cannot tell you how special this place is you just need to go an experience it for yourself. Special shout out to ALL the staff, they were just as perfect as the room was. thank you thank you thank you. it was a dream.”

We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton.”

If I stayed for 2-3 nights, I would have added to the flavor of the trip by drinking beer or tea in the garden while looking at the wonderful view, steam train, and castle. I am so grateful for the...
