“While the hotel itself was good the experience with the staff was awful. We had 10 rooms and many, many issues over 3 days that could/should have been easily avoided. A lack of good CX skills, empathy and willingness to address simple things made for a very poor experience. I would not recommend this hotel unfortunately.”

“Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. ”

“Stayed two nights 26/27 March. The de luxe double was an excellent room very comfortable bed had a really good night sleep. Bath in the bathroom a positive. Breakfast on first day a full english really well cooked next day on the Saturday had eggs royale really good.”

“Room was clean but very tired as was the building in general . Breakfast was plenty but cooked breakfast was not fresh as in sausages were hard to cut and bacon crispy and dry . Have stayed there many times in the past, it’s a lovely building in style but unfortunately hasn’t been lovingly cared for by Greene King brewery. Shower was hot and quite powerful but no shower/bath mat available was a case of do I break anything on my body trying to climb out of bath as so slippery ”
