The lady at reception informed me that the bars outside hotel was open, but it was closed as well. For guests with departures before 10:00 AM, this is really not practical. "This is a beautiful, elegant and unpretentious luxury resort & spa. The pools, grounds, spa & dining are immaculate! A five star experience. You must have a car and be comfortable driving swift back, narrow mountain roads to climb the 2,800 feet above Lake Lugano. Stunning!!"

"The staff was absolutely wonderful with the exception of the General Manager who was a bit crazy. I have never written that in a review, but I don’t know how else to describe her. Otherwise the hotel was fine. Not near the downtown at all, so that was a challenge, and the breakfast was all cold, but besides that, the hotel had AC (a plus) and was clean. More of a 3 star than a 4 star by US ratings."
