"Booked El Khalil pyramids hotel, turned up, a man said sorry we dont have your booking, you will need to pay again. Interesting, as i had already paid. I check all the details and pictures, same hotel. The guy says we dont have online bookings or listings, you need to book direct only, this listing isnt his.
So i call his bluff, phone the number listed under the booking details, his phone rang... rigjt there infront of me. We had some back and forth, but in the end he was just saying the price...

"Mooi hotel, super vriendelijk personeel zowel in de club lounge als in de andere restaurants. Uitgebreid ontbijt met Egyptische specialiteiten (super lekker). De kamer was elke dag netjes gekuist en elke avond klaargemaakt om te genieten van een goede nachtrust.

"It is important to mention that the staff is not very friendly; it sometimes feels like the ruder you are to them, the more attentive they become. The security screening staff are particularly impolite and intrusive. The receptionist provided a normal service, nothing extraordinary.
The rooms are extremely clean and offer a spectacular view. There is an oriental restaurant that I found very beautiful, and the staff there were finally attentive, offering recommendations and being very kind. However, some staff in other restaurants were not friendly at all.
So far, my deposit has not been returned, and I am still waiting for it to be released. For a five-star hotel, the service should be more courteous and better trained. I would stay here again only because of the location and the views.
Thank you very much."
"Our recent stay at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah was truly exceptional and exceeded all expectations.
The location is outstanding, set right on the River Nile with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere despite being in the heart of Cairo. Waking up each day to this setting was a real highlight, especially with the magnificent view from our room where, on a clear day, we could even see the pyramids in the distance.
The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and highly professional, always going above and beyond with impressive knowledge and attention to detail. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options, all fresh and beautifully presented. The hotel throughout was spotless—very clean, tidy, and extremely well maintained.
The pool area deserves special mention. It was immaculate, with pristine water and surrounding areas that were exceptionally well kept, clean, and tidy. It provided the perfect place to relax and unwind by the Nile.
Dining at Kebabgy was a highlight, with outstanding, authentic food. A special mention also goes to the team at Club Millésime Lounge for their exceptional service, afternoon tea, drinks, and snacks.
A memorable stay—we would highly recommend it."
