This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (ā€œQueenā€˜s Bathsā€œ). During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. As the Queen realised the excellent characteristics of the waters, she ordered the construction of a thermal Hospital in 1485. The location started developing around this central Hospital

O hotel Ć© velho. Ponto. NĆ£o Ć© sĆ³ antigo, estĆ” degradado, e precisa de obras de restauro/conservaĆ§Ć£o. As portas nĆ£o tĆŖm qualquer isolamento, tĆŖm frestas de 2cm atĆ© ao chĆ£o, ouve-se tudo nos corredores e nos quartos adjacentes. A cama rangia, a alcatifa nĆ£o estava bem limpa, a casa de banho tinha azulejos partidos, a tampa da sanita rachada, a porta do wc era um fole de pvc que nĆ£o fechava... Pequeno almoƧo simples, normal, nada de especial, pĆ£o, cafĆ© e sumo instantĆ¢neo, fruta maĆ§Ć£s e pĆŖras. A nĆ£o ser que de facto o dinheiro faƧa falta, prefiram pagar mais 10 ou 15 eur por algo mais agradavel.

Aceptable, ubicaciĆ³n perfecta, nuestra habitacion estaba algo sucia, instalaciones viejas. En el baƱo habia varios elementos rotos ducha taza y tapa water, papelera. Ademas tuve un pequeƱo incidente con el pago y la estancia que se resolviĆ³ rĆ”pidamente, supongo q no revisaron mi reserva a traves de internet menos mal que la aplicaciĆ³n funciona muy bien.

Can't really say it was a great experience, or a bad one. Reception is in a different building than the real apartment. It looks it's more meant to people that want to live in there for a few months while looking for someplace to live. Space for lots of people, but smells really old. I'd say it's ok if you're just looking for a place to spend a night if you're trying to avoid the high prices at Obidos.

leider nicht so gut

Das Hotel hat seine besseren Zeiten hinter sich. Der SanitƤrbereich ist wirklich marode und die kleinen Zimmer sind sehr hellhƶrig. FĆ¼r einen Aufenthalt im Winter sollte man auƟerdem wissen, dass es keine Heizung gibt. Es gibt ein kleines FrĆ¼hstĆ¼ck, aber im nƤchsten Cafe kann man sicher besser sitzen. ParkplƤtze werden zwar beworben, allerdings gibt es genau 2 StĆ¼ck, und wenn die schon belegt sind hat man halt Pech. WLAN gibt es lt. Hinweisschild zwar gratis, aber nur eine halbe Stunden lang ... Insgesamt leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Esta cĆ©ntrico, de difĆ­cil aparcamiento, la calefacciĆ³n no funcionaba y la bomba frĆ­o-calor en su mĆ”xima posiciĆ³n... No calentaba, encima... Cuando te hacen la habitaciĆ³n, te dejan todas las ventanas abiertas... Independientemente de que te persones a altas horas, despuĆ©s de tu visita y encontrarte todo congelado... El desagĆ¼e de aguas del aseo, desbordaba agua, despuĆ©s de ducharse los niƱos...y tras una pequeƱa noche de lluvias... Aparecieron humedades en la pared. No todo es malo, el desayuno.. A pesar de tener que acudir al mismo con abrigo, del frĆ­o que hacĆ­a en ese salĆ³n, era bufĆ©... Y por el precio de la habitaciĆ³n... Esta bien el detalle, la atenciĆ³n por parte del personal es amable, Por lo general... no repetirĆ­a la experiencia y tratarĆ­a de gastar algo mĆ”s en otro hotel... Si hubiera disponibilidad.

Great location, room needs extra care

We found the location terrific, close to Obidos. The room was very basic and dated. Breakfast is very basic. Staff was friendly, spoke English and French.

HƓtel Ơ petit prix. A deux pas du le centre ville avec une boulangerie typique pour prendre le petit dƩjeuner, parfait pour un court sƩjour. Si vous avez simplement besoin d'une chambre pour la nuit c'est parfait. Je l'ai dƩjƠ recommandƩ.

to view houses in the area

town centre ok, it has no pubs but plenty of coffee outlets which suited until dinner time (6pm - 0pm). Restaurants not open on an evening. Hotel is a has got to be one of the worst places I have stop, but you pay for quality. Bus to Lisbon very cheap at 8 euro, Buses run every 15 to 30 minutes on the dot. GREAT PEOPLE.

We got a cold room, uncomfortable beds, a bad bathroom - I won't recommend this "hotel" ever. But the hotel stuff did their best to improve our stay and our impression. Do not trust pictures and description in Expedia.

A Minha estadia no Dom Carlos foi das piores estadia que algum dia tive nĆ£o tive um quarto sedente para um casal com filhos menores,higiene muito mĆ” Ć”gua quente nem por isso o esquentador estava avariado pelo preƧo que paguei nĆ£o tive direito a pequeno almoƧo no mesmo hotel dos mesmos donos com preƧo equivalente tive direito a pequeno almoƧo para finalizar fique desapontado com esta estadia....

Siamo arrivate in serata nei pressi di Obidos e siamo state accolte da un giovane gentile che ci ha accompagnate nella casa che ci e' apparsa sin da subito pulita spaziosa ed adeguata. Consigliabile per famiglie e gruppi. Meglio munirsi di zaino perchƩ la casa non ha l'ascensore.
