"I was disappointed with the check-in process. We arrived around 12:30 p.m., understanding that check-in is at 3:00 p.m., but after paying for incidentals, we were told a personal assistant would contact us with our room assignment—which never happened. I followed up twice and was given inaccurate wait times before ultimately having to find another staff member at 3:00 p.m. to complete check-in.
Additionally, before receiving our room, we were directed to someone who claimed they would explain the resort amenities, but it turned into a high-pressure attempt to get us to attend a 90-minute sales presentation for vacation packages. This was very off-putting and not something I expect while on vacation. Although Ava is a newer resort, I noticed more wear and tear than expected. The pool was the highlight, but the food and service across the restaurants were mediocre. The one standout was housekeeping—our room was cleaned daily and very well maintained."
