Our trip from the UK had been planned around going to this lighthouse. I was devastated to learn that there would be scaffolding on the lighthouse , but our trip was booked and we still went. I'm so glad we did. We had a glorious morning with spectacular clouds and the scaffolding seemed to add something extra that we couldn't have got at another time. I just love this place.

Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse near Portland, Maine. Located in a park just outside of Portland with some nice walking trails and great scenery.
Not there at the best time of day, however I was able to secure a great location for the classic shot of this lighthouse.

This place is very special, both in its gorgeous setting and in the lovely, comfortable suites. But what stands out especially is how everyone on the staff is so well trained, helpful and gracious. also, the food at the Sea Glass restaurant was wounded and the service perfect.
