Stay at Chapmans Peak Hotel was wonderful. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious and the hotel is nicely situated right across the road from the beach. We had a very relaxing stay, and hope to return again soon!
The hotel has a nice view, even it is located at the main road, the beach can be seen from ther room (with seaview). The history of the hotel is impressive and the restaurant is quite nice.
There are so many wonderful things about Chapman Peak Hotel: quaint setting, modern conveniences, historic architecture, excellent food, friendly staff, convenient shopping nearby, and beautiful views of Hout Bay beach! We give it an excellent rating on everything!!! Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable and memorable!
it was great. the staff was maverlous .the food was fresh and tasty...this is a treasure that is nestled in a small fishing village..i advise anyone in the area to stay..you will not be disappointed
I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now. My only issue is that if you come back late at night, its a little bit of a pain to get in to the parking. They need to figure out a better way.
Other then that we enjoyed our say. Clean rooms, amazing breakfast and beautiful view.
We had booked a balcony room with a sea view and couldn’t have been more pleased. The room was very spacious, very comfortable and provided us with an excellent base. The balcony was very large and the view was awesome. All our the staff were friendly and efficient, we ate dinner in the restaurant and the food and wine list were excellent and quality of food top class, a great choice if you’re looking for a spot in Hoet Bay
Pool for lengths with room service available there.
Attached Restaurant - food was amazing, breakfast included in price - croissants so soft and delicious; best calamari on the planet; scrumptious Portuguese steak.
Rooms were spacious with either mountain or sea views.
Staff was incredibly helpful. Driver was wonderful, flexible, and very knowledgeable of the area, shared stories and full of humour. Really thoroughly enjoyed my week's stay there as a quiet base to explore Cape Town and all of its history and sites.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
An historical hotel that needs some TLC.
The hotel is in a lovely location and has a great history. The staff were good, staff and efficient. The rooms were good and comfy. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel had a musty odour and definitely needs to some deep cleaning, renovation and upgrading. The dining area is tired and in definite need of a refurbishment.
Beautiful blend of 120 year old carriage inn and modern boutique hotel. Totally safe & quiet.
4th floor cliff edge pool lovely. Uninterrupted views of Hout Bay.
Parking underground and security of a high level.
Restaurant part of old hotel & very characterful.
Food slighty overpriced compared to other more modern restaurants. Breakfast - when not buffet - a little bit mixed in service. But venue & view & room quality wins out.
Parking was safe, they had a gate for parking. However, room could not provide enough heat during the cold weather. Staff was not prepared to keep guests warm, did not know how to operate the heater. Was offered other rooms that made no difference. Poor after sales management, provided no other solutions and asked me to bear with the cold since its nothing. Might be a better option during summer, not sure. Will not return.
Great hotel. Room was lovely - I had a corner suite with beautiful balcony and 180 view of Hout Bay. I think I got an upgrade. Love the staff, excellent location close to everything. Really cannot say enough about this hotel. Oh and Hout Bay area is amazing.
Wonderful views over Hout Bay with a walk along the beach a stone's throw away. Modern rooms linked to original hotel where restaurant & bar areas have loads of character and a good daily vibe created by the many local visitors.
The Rooms were very good is size. service was great. Food options were lovely. Staff we so professional and personal. Lovely view from hotel room over Hout Bay
Nice room that was a comfortable size. Breakfast was excellent and had hot made to order options and a great coffee barista. Pool didn’t look great and we didn’t swim there but you’re right across from the beach.
Everything about this hotel I absolutely loved! The room was large, clean, and so comfortable. The view of the ocean from my balcony was a dream! Service was friendly and so accommodating. I adored talking to Joseph the bartender, and his cocktails were fantastic. The restaurant was so great too. Food was tasty, wine was superb, prices were reasonable, and service was great. Raymond and the others at the front desk were warm and welcoming. Sunsets from the pool deck were spectacular. I really miss this place already 💕
We had stayed at a few locations during our Cape Town trip and Hout Bay never disappoints in terms of its location. Magnificent views from our sea view rooms and we had a lovely walk up Chapman's Peak on Saturday morning with lots of other locals, there's also a great little container style barista/coffee shop just across the road offering great coffee and a fantastic view.
I have to make particular mention to Wendy on the cleaning staff. It was only mid-air out of Cape Town that I realised I had left my diamond stud earrings on my bedside table, there was absolutely nothing I could do for 90 minutes until we touched down in Johannesburg and I was able to call the hotel. My faith in humanity is totally restored and just so thankful to Wendy for her honesty in finding & returning my earrings to reception so that my friend who lives locally could collect them on my behalf and safely keep them until my next trip to Cape Town.
The hotel itself had all the facilities that we needed. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel which is also well supported by the locals (breakfast however was a little underwhelming).
Would definitely stay here again.
