Very enjoyable stay... easy walk to the centre of town and to the penquins, but also nicely elevated away from the traffic of the main road and with lovely views of False Bay, sunrises and the historical naval harbour.
This is a nice house situated on the hill in Simon's Town. Very clean and the staff provided laundry service and tidied up daily. The view was spectacular and was waterfront. Our family highly recommends this guest house.
Was pleasantly surprised to find the Villa to be as warm and welcoming as depicted in the pictures .
Our Host Sue personally welcomed us made sure we felt at home.
The one thing they do not advertise is the beautiful view at night with the Moon on your balcony .
everything you could need was available , will definitely be adding them to my list of returns :)
This guest house was exactly what we were hoping for — quiet, convenient, easy, and relaxing. Room was very clean and comfortable, with nice amenities. Onsite parking so appreciated. The included breakfast was robust and very good, and enjoyed with a great view. Loved that we could easily walk to the Main Street, restaurants, to Boulders Beach for penguins; and it is an easy drive to the national park. Jonathan and staff were welcoming, very helpful and accommodating. We would have loved to stay longer …
Excellent hospitality from Jonathan. Nothing was too much trouble. Great View over Simonstown.

Disliked: Staff & service
Overall experience felt like staying at a hostel than a guesthouse. I partially felt uncomfortable at the reception. The checkout morning we went to the beach and we’re back 40 minutes before the checkout time. But the lady told us that we disappeared without “letting her know”… it was weird and uncomfortable to receive such comment. And we checked out at 10:30
Awesome location and views. The bed is super-comfy! Staff very friendly and polite. A nice but not-too-distant walk into the heart of Simonstown. Breakfast cooked from scratch so fresh from the stove onto your plate. Overall very nice. Highly recommended.
I loved staying at Grosvenor. The welcome when I arrived was fantastic and I was checked in within minutes. The room was spacious and clean, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. The living room area and breakfast verandah offered amazing views of Simonstown, the harbour, and the coastline beyond. The owner's dog, Trixie, is often there during the days and is a gentle, loving pooch that I loved greeting every day.
It's a little out of the way, just off the main road and up a steep street but this means it's so quiet and peaceful. Parking outside was never a problem as the area is so safe.
The staff were incredible friendly and always looking for ways to help me in any way they could. The breakfast selection was plentiful with many different options.
The only negatives for me, they're minor and perhaps pertain only to me, were that the Wifi, while free, was limited and you could end up being cut off for the day, the connection was also a bit spotty at times. The other thing was the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. As someone who likes to have some cold drinks available to me, this was a little annoying but certainly not a holiday-ruiner.
When I travel to Cape Town again, I'm certainly going to try and stay at Grosvenor - easily one of the best guest house experiences I've had.
Excellent property with great hosts and fantastic home cooked breakfast each morning. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. One thing to be mindful off is that this property has a large amount of stairs to climb, but if you are able to do this, then this is the place to stay. Highly recommend and would stay again.
The single, most important, feature of Grosvenor Guest House is its Manager, Sue and, then, because of Sue's influence, her staff. Sue went 'beyond the call' in her endeavours to make sure each guest had detailed information about, or directions to, activities to suit their personal interests. We thought this was unique and we were pleased to have met Sue.
The suite we were given was charming and characterised the "Romance Suite" perfectly (we counted nearly 90 hearts in one form or another). All was discreetly presented and the room was very comfortable; the terrace and garden were perfect for lazing in.
James and Jonathan, the two staff members we had most contact with were extremely helpful and delightfully informal, without being intrusive in any way.
We read somewhere that the breakfasts are legendary and we absolutely understood why. We looked forward to them every day and thoroughly enjoyed them in the covered terrace, overlooking the Naval Base and to the sea beyond.
We stayed for two weeks and would happily visit again if the opportunity arose.
Thank you, Sue, and your staff for a lovely stay in Simon's Town, giving us the peace we so needed when we arrived.
Lovely B&B in Simon's Town. Spacious room and very comfy bed. The manager Sue was super, helpful and arranged things for me. Jonathan, James and the girls were fantastic, the did everything to make you feel good and satisfied. Breakfast was included but unfortunately not
many options for vegans, like plantbased milk or yoghurt to the cerial. There was a big fruit bowl though that made me happy.
I would highly recommend this B&B and would happily return if I ever go back to South Africa
