"Beautiful and quiet. The chef is amazing and our dinner was delicious. The manager/waiter was not so pleasant. I think it may have been a language barrier issue as we don’t speak Italian and he doesn’t speak English and he didn’t have much patience for translating. We also found the men who checked us in were not very welcoming. For such a beautiful hotel the front desk people should be much more welcoming. "Cave B&B. Right at the heart of old Matera city. Driving there is not possible, so either have a small luggage or be ready to drag the luggage through medieval streets. There’s a Maison or Casa Cava that is close to drive by to load and unload the luggages, but still hard to drive to. Just a heads up. The host speaks little English. Breakfast has a great selection and very fresh."
