"Kate and Dustin are great hosts and serve a delicious breakfast! The Inn is spotless and tastefully decorated. The location is perfect- close to town and Oriental's beautiful waterfront is a pleasant walk just down the street.
My room (Bar Harbor) was quiet, comfortable and lovely.
I would absolutely book the Inn At Oriental again!"
"The property was beautiful and the location was perfect and walkable to everything. The only thing I did not like was the walls were a little thin and could hear our neighbors enjoying themselves a little too much if you know what I mean 😉. Other than that, great property."
"We had everything we needed. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and healthy and our dietary restrictions were respected. I would stay here again and recommend it to others!"
"The location is great and check-in was quick, but unfortunately this was the worst experience we’ve had in over 10 years of staying here. We stayed in the Manager’s Apartment, and it was clear housekeeping and maintenance had been overlooked. We locked the door when we left but came back to it unlocked twice??
At 11 PM the ceiling started leaking so I had to move the furniture out of the way and discovered the loveseat was covering a nasty mess. We used towels to clean it up the leak until we could notify staff the next morning. After employees checked the leak, they didn’t pick up or replace the towels, clean the floor, or even lock the doors when they left.
Helena was especially rude when I asked for extra towels and a replacement bathroom light bulb. One of the girls urgently needed the bathroom after we returned from the beach, but Helena complained that she was using the restoom in the dark. She also left the old bulb just lying on the bathroom counter afterward.
The next morning, we woke up to bugs covering the bedroom ceiling, walls, and floor. The dishwasher had been pushed back so far it wouldn’t close properly, the Keurig was stored away still full of old water and a used pod, the oven door was sticky, and the freezer smelled strongly like fish.
The most disappointing part wasn’t even the condition of the unit — it was the complete lack of concern after these issues were brought to Helena's attention. The pool was also closed due to a leak. Other staff were great."
"I've stayed in several of the "main" hotels on Ocracoke and this was my favorite stay! The room was incredibly clean and housekeeping came by daily to keep it fresh. Quiet but also conveniently located. A great stay especially for families with kids!"
