"We paid a little over $300 for a corner view king room. The view was very nice - overlooking the Ferris wheel and the Potomac. However the room had a very musty / slightly marijuana stink to it and the air wasn’t running in the room. We turned on the AC (confusing with two different controllers in the room) and tried to ignore it, but after the second entry to our room we decided to let staff know so we weren’t blamed for the smell after we checked out. They were apologetic and sent up their engineer with an ozone room cleaner that they left for an hour to de-stink the room. They gave us a comped appetizer in the restaurant while they worked. As I’m celiac, I chose the least likely thing to have gluten as staff was pretty clueless - nachos; while husband chose wings to supplement. Both were nothing we would eat again. Nachos had canned cheese sauce with a sprinkle of “real cheese” on top. When we got back to the room it was getting late and it definitely smelled better but had a strong deodorizer smell. This was a big failure of cleaning staff from the turning over of this room to not note the smell and have it remedied before the next guest.
The bathrooms are good sized but water pressure was abysmal and the morning we left the water temperature in the shower was a barely tolerable lukewarm. Combined with low water pressure, it was a shower to be endured quickly, not enjoyed. Overall just an OK experience and disappointing for the money spent. Plus-front desk staff great. "
