"When staying at a historic inn or hotel, I want to see some history. My husband and I enjoyed reading the old news clippings and historic details on the walls. The room, furnished with antiques, was very clean; nothing was sticky and the only noticeable dust was on the TV stand. Breakfast was in a pretty dining room. They accommodated our toddler by giving her cushions to sit on, milk in a child-sized cup, and a straw."

"We travelled with a group of 5 couples and stayed in the Welty House, known for being part of the ghost tours in Gettysburg. The rooms were decorated in period furniture. There was a beautiful courtyard with tables and chairs where we were able to gather. The beds are very firm, so this made it difficult for some to sleep. "I had wonderful stay when I went for a Penn State football weekend. It was so homey and Connie and Steve were such great hosts I felt like I was staying with family. The coffee tray outside the room in the morning was a great touch, and the Crème Brûlée French toast (and perfectly crispy bacon) for breakfast was out of this world! "The area was beautiful and very quite! We loved the cabin we stayed in. While we did run into some minor issues, staff was VERY accommodating and attentive. We hope to come back and would love to stay on the grounds again. They love dogs and that made us feel more comfortable.
