We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through the airport and enjoying Alto Pass in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when picking what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a smart option.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink plenty of water and move your legs and feet. Wander around the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
