Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. Take a peek at these handy tips that will get your Antist vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm passengers, such as swords and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
