No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. Follow these handy travel tips that will get your Arctic Bay vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great flight experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, official ID, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic devices or a good read. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
