We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a blast in Arundel in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
