No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. Check out these handy travel tips that will get your Atea escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and go for shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
