Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Atkinson escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
