Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Aubert escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could harm other people, such as guns and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and pack a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
