We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and enjoying Bassila before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
