If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a worry-free start to your vacation in Beille. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your aircraft are no fashion runway. Don comfortable layers and pack a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights, stay well hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
