If you're not prepared, air travel can be tough. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a pain-free start to your time in Belém. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
