Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of top travel tips that will get your Big Pool escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural fibers and take a pullover just in case you get cold. Go for a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your main luggage.
- The serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
