No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Buttershaw escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to take on and off.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
