Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Cambridge could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've put together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some terrific options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and wear flat, easy-to-remove shoes like sneakers.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
