No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Chlomos escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
