If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a pleasant start to your vacation in Čiginj. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome travel experience is to plan ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, official ID, bank cards and important medications. Next, bring items that'll help pass the time, like your laptop or a good read. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of breathable clothing and remember to pack a sweater in case it gets cool. Always go with flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your main luggage.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
