We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Cloudland in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
