If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a worry-free start to your vacation in Dumalag. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favorite shows are always good options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your main priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen feet can be a side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are your best bet.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, drink lots of water and get your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
