Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Erda vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a short nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could injure passengers, such as swords and batons, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pick shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
