We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through the airport and discovering Esplanada in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
