Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Fiolitis could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to take a cardigan as it can get chilly in the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
