Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Gammel Rye vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
