Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Glamis vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and pick closed-toe, flat shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
