Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Glasgow vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you take the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
