Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will help get your Halmahera escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
